Private Workshops
ONE DAY WORKSHOP 9:30-4:30 - Students will work on pre-primed canvas to begin a floorcloth. Techniques covered are hemming, some painting methods, design planning, finishing tips, technical tips for trouble shooting. Most materials included but students are required to bring their own brushes, design tools of choice and paint colors as desired. (Some paints will be available but students are encouraged to bring their own paints for color matching). $300 for one student, $200.00 each for two or more students on the same date. Fee includes materials and box lunch.
TWO DAY WORKSHOP 9:30-4:30 - Students will design and construct a floorcloth on pre-primed canvas, prime canvas for a second floorcloth and begin work on that one. Discussions and demonstrations will cover techniques including: preparation, hemming (multiple styles), painting methods, design planning, finishing tips, technical tips for trouble shooting. Most materials included but students are required to bring their own brushes, design tools of choice and paint colors as desired. (Some paints will be available but students are encouraged to bring their own for color matching). $450 for one student, $350.00 each for two or more students on the same date. Fee includes materials, box lunch each day and video.
THREE DAY WORKSHOP 9:30-4:30 - Students will design, construct and complete 2 floorcloths depending on painting skills. Students will work on pre-primed canvas as well as priming their own canvas. Discussions and demonstrations will cover techniques including: preparation, hemming (multiple styles), painting methods, design planning, finishing tips, technical tips for trouble shooting. Most materials included but students are required to bring their own brushes, design tools of choice and paint colors as desired. (Some paints will be available but students are encouraged to bring their own for color matching). $550 for one student, $450.00 each for two or more students on the same date. Fee includes materials, box lunch each day and video.
TO REGISTER:
Students should request two dates of choosing. Upon verification of a date, a 50% deposit is required of each student to hold date. Deposit is due within 10 days of notification of verification. Balance paid on the first day of the workshop. Scheduled dates will be held or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather or personal emergencies. Deposit is non-refundable.
STUDENTS BRING: old clothes or paint apron, note pad or sketch book, pencil, good eraser, scissors, right angle, ruler, portable hair dryer, brushes, design tools and paints in desired colors. All materials for floorcloth construction will be on site: canvas, gesso, hemming tools, clear acrylic sealant, rubber backing, paste wax etc.
